There are very few Orthodontic emergencies.
Long and sharp archwires are the main emergencies as these can cut into the cheeks or gums.
We have emergency times available everyday with an Orthodontic Auxillary.
At the weekends we have a number you can contact if necessary for such problems.
Occasionally, particularly at the beginning of treatment while you are getting used to your braces and eating, an attachment may become loose. Should this occur there is no need to panic. These are generally repaired at your next visit.
If you would like the attachment removed from the archwire please contact the clinic.
If the broken attachment is one to which elastics are attached, please contact the clinic for advice. We will endeavour to see you earlier than your allotted time.
Never attempt to ‘fix’ the braces yourself as further problems and damage is likely.
